Backbone Feminist Quote Lettering Illustration
The Brief: For the @typingfeminism Instagram account, create a custom hand-drawn lettering piece of a feminist site to be featured on their account and site to promote feminism, equal rights, and all around positivity for women.
Role: Graphic designer and illustrator responsible for concept, design, and implementation of all lettering and illustration.
Tools Used: iPad Pro, Procreate app, Apple Pencil.
Stop Wearing Your Wishbone Where Your Backbone Ought to Be. I had the pleasure of contributing this piece to @typingfeminism, a great Instagram account showing women letterers highlighting feminism and the solidarity of women. I chose a quote that was both inspirational and powerful, but that also wasn't just about women as a gender, but about moving forward and pushing to get important things done rather than wishing and hoping they will happen. We are women and we are strong and can accomplish anything if we don't wish upon a star for our dreams to come true. ⠀
