Magazine Cover Lettering Illustration
The Brief: To create a lettering illustration for the cover of Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine for the January/February 2023 Trends edition.
Role: Illustrator responsible for concepts and final illustration and lettering for magazine cover illustration. Creative direction and color feedback by Courtney Jenkins of Kostuch Media.
Tools Used: Procreate app, iPad Pro, Apple pencil, and Photoshop
Late in 2022, Kostuch Media reached out to me to create a fun vibrant lettering-styled cover illustration for their upcoming 2023 Trends issue. With the trends list they gave me, I came up with 4 different sketches and concepts for how the cover could be designed using a combination of lettering and illustration, or lettering only. Once a direction was chosen by the client, we tried out a variety of color options before finally settling on a dark green version. The issue came out in January 2023 and the client was very happy with the end result. Thank you to Courtney Jenkins for sending this job my way.
